The Journey from India & UMMC Chief Residency

After graduating with top academic honors in general medicine (MBBS, 1980), Dr. Indira arrived in Jackson, MS, joining the Department of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Demonstrating exceptional clinical diagnostic clarity, she was appointed Chief Resident in Internal Medicine for the 1983–1984 academic year, training generations of Mississippi physicians and setting a gold standard for hospital-wide medical education.

II 1984 – 2024

Establishing Madison-Ridgeland Medical Clinic (MRMC) at 11 Professional Parkway, Dr. Indira remained steadfastly independent against hospital consolidation. She built an active, multi-generational registry of over 30,000 patient charts spanning Madison, Hinds, and Rankin counties—managing acute crises, complex chronic disease, and federal civil surgeon authorizations without administrative bureaucracy.
